Dane County Child Support Agency

  • The City County Building including the Child Support office is closed until further notice. When we reopen, we will see only people with appointments.
  • Contacting Us: We are talking phone calls (608) 266-4031.  Due to the Pandemic, except HOLD times to be between 5-15 minutes, sometimes longer. You may also write our office.
  • Genetic Tests: have resumed.  You are required to enter at the Wilson Street entrance of the City County Building. Please be on time and wear a mask.  Do not bring anyone with you that does not have an appointment.  Bring a photo ID, or will not be tested.
  • Stimulus Checks: The IRS will interecept past-due child support from Stimulus Check. It is based upon your 2019 tax return. If you have not filed your 2019 tax return, it is based upon your 2018 tax return.  If you filed jointly either year, without an injured spouse claim, the entire check will be intercepted and HELD for 6 months before release.  The Child Support Agency cannot control the date of receipt or the date of release of the funds to you.

Under contract with the Department of Children and Families (DCF), the Dane County Child Support Agency provides assistance to establish paternity, establish support orders and enforce child support and health insurance. Our agency is comprised of dedicated individuals who handle over 28,000 open cases. Dane County Child Support Agency is one of 71 county and 10 tribal child support agencies in Wisconsin. We work in conjunction with the State, local courts and many outside partner agencies to meet the needs of the families that we serve.

How to Check on Payment Status

The State of Wisconsin has created several outstanding resources to check on your child support payments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That is why Dane County Child Support no longer provides payment information over the phone. Please use one of the listed payment resources available to you to manage your account balances, court order summary and payments made or received.

  • Child Support Online Services (CSOS) Secured Website (current year & last year payments)
  • IVR at the Trust Fund:  1-800-991-5530 (last two payments)
  • EPPIC Debit Mastercard: Toll-free # 1-877-253-3686. No website at this time. EPPIC has a text message alert feature. To set up call their toll free number
  • Direct deposit users can contact your local bank for savings and checking activities
  • Payment histories greater than 2 years old, contact us at (608) 266-4031

Payment Information

The State of Wisconsin issued a Debit Mastercard to parents who receive child support, family support and maintenance.  The card is isued by Comerica Bank and managed by EPPIC. 

Starting with the very first payment discuresed to you, an EPPIC Debit Mastercard will be mailed within 7-10 days to the current address we have on file.

Simplified Application Form

If you have an existing Dane County Court Case, you may apply for our services free by filling out this simplified application and returning it to us. If possible, attach a copy of your most recent court order.

Please have your PIN number, IVD number, or social security number ready as we will need one of these numbers to verify your identity.

Our phone hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Case Participants will be connected to a Customer Service Rep, who will answer the questions or take a message and forward it to the assigned worker. The calls are answered in the order in which they are received; therefore, you may experience longer hold times while we assist other participants. It may take up to 5 business days to return a call, and calls will be returned only if additional information is needed to take the requested action. It is best to call back for an update in 5 days after your initial phone call.
